Can someone explain the footsteps with Chucky?

I believe they appear when he is in undetectable state, and you see footsteps near you. I can't figure out what that purpose is, other than get you nervous he might be near?


Or is there something else for those visible footsteps?

    1. When you are in chase with him, you will see his footsteps behind walls which will help you to looping. He is so short, so that's his counter for chase part.
    2. And the other, when he is in power it's warning for you. He is small, no TR and he is pretty quiet when power starts. So this is also his counter to warn you.

    I think it's mainly to freak you out while you sit on the generator it's so nerve racking he could easily be right there and grab you 😱

    there is an addon that spawns the footprints at random when he uses his power

    Normal footsteps: If he is 16 meters away from you and you see his hitbox (it is slightly larger than the model), you will see footsteps showing where he is. It seems to work like this
