Why isn't there an official site for people to buy and redeem the Auric Cells?

I'm just curious why there isn't a browser for DBD to sell Auric Cells personally instead of going through the consoles/Steam/Epic Games. I ask because of another game being able to do that. Is it because we can't use an email to confirm our account or is it another issue?

I imagine it's because the console makers and Steam etc. get a cut of the money spend on buying those cells, and get it through the game's store itself.
