New Killer Idea for Dead by Daylight!
The Weeping Angel – From the “Doctor Who” series if it were in Dead by Daylight.
Perks:
- Conscious - When a survivor isn't looking at you, you gain increased movement speed.
- Unaware - Survivors have a reduced line of sight of the Angel.
- The Mobile Statue: Upon successfully downing a survivor, the Weeping Angel may not be frozen for a short period of time (or until the original survivor is hooked).
Killer Specific Mechanic:
Blinking (The Vision Bar) —- When fighting against the Weeping Angel, all survivors will have a new mechanic called “Blinking”, which is as simple as it sounds. Every few seconds, the survivors will blink to regain their vision, if they do not blink, they will become blind for a short duration leaving them vulnerable to the Weeping Angel. Whenever they blink, they cannot see for a very short duration, once again making them vulnerable to the Weeping Angel’s lethal speed. Every survivor is prompted to blink at the same time, unless they choose not to blink which, in that case, they’ll be blinded for a short duration (this happens when they fail the skill check in order to blink). The reason they all blink at the same time is a preventative measure so the Angel will never be permanently locked in a frozen state (this could occur if the survivors use teamwork to correctly blink at certain points so one person is always staring at the Angel). Each survivor starts the game with a full bar of vision. The bar will deplete VERY QUICKLY as the match progresses, the survivor must perform a skill check to blink when the bar prompts them to blind or else they’ll be blinded. It cannot be stated how quickly this bar depletes, it’s not instant, but VERY QUICK. This bar is important as it lets the survivor know when they can and cannot go and seek out the Angel, so it’s important for the survivors to always be paying attention to the bar. Every survivor will be put into the skill check at the same time, whether that be when they’re doing a generator, being chased by the killer, whatever the case. It forces the survivor to stop and take time to blink or they’ll be blinded. If the survivor fails the skill check, they will be put in the “Blind” state and will not be able to see for a while, leaving them very vulnerable to the Angel and will also be revealed to it. The bar will ONLY refill after a skill check is completed successfully or after the survivor stays immobile and still for a period of time, this does include when standing still in a locker or when doing a generator.
Ability:
Angels Hunt in Groups – The Weeping Angel starts the game with five available clones of itself, they may distract the survivors and divert their attention to something other than the original Weeping Angel. If a Survivor is tricked by a clone, they focus on the clone for a short period of time which doesn’t allow them to, per say, look at the original Weeping Angel. This is an important ability as it diverts the attention from the survivors to something other than the original Weeping Angel, which gives the user plenty of time to actually strike without being frozen back into a statue. You may also freely teleport to any of the Statues, taking their place and leaving your original Weeping Angel as a new statue that cannot move that you may freely teleport to and become. When traveling between statues, if the user doesn’t move, then the user will have no terror radius and, to the survivors, the statue they’ve teleported to will just look like any normal statue and it can be used for deception.
Survivor’s Vision:
The survivors all have lowered vision for the whole match. Their vision will only get worse with the newly added vision bar. This will force the survivors to always be alert so they do not get caught when they least expect it. They must also use their player model to stare at the Angel or else it will be able to attack them.
Camera:
Third person so the Angel May be able to see more around it, like the normal Weeping Angels. It will also help the Angel see where the survivors are heading once they freeze it.
Counter-Play for Survivors:
The survivors may prevent the Weeping Angel by staring at it, this isn’t as simple as moving the camera to look at the Angel. The survivors must physically move the player model to stare at the Angel, which will let them get distance before the Angel pursues them. The survivor may not freeze the Angel as it’s attacking. Staring at the Angel will make it frozen for a short period of time.
Attacking:
The Angel will leap forward with a pummel of the stone fist, moving very stiff.
Movement:
The Angel moves in a very stiff manner, never being able to physically walk. The Angel teleports a short distance forward, never actually moving its legs or arms or anything. It’s a statue, after all.
Appearance:
A stone statue of a winged, humanoid angel in a chiton
Backstory:
With an age as old as the universe itself, Weeping Angels appear to be ordinary statues, but an underlying evil resides in these creatures. The Weeping Angels were first discovered by the likes of a Doctor, Doctor Who. Their unique statue-like appearance is a result of being quantum-locked, which means they can only move when no one's looking at them. They always appear in groups, but the Entity could only pick one. Seeing the unique potential of them, the Entity took one into her realm. The Angel had tried to fight back, but the Entity watched it like a hawk, leaving it immobile. Against their will, the Weeping Angel now joins Dead by Daylight to wreak havoc on humanity who is far less prepared for such a universal threat than a time traveling Doctor. Don’t Blink. Blink and you’re dead. (have the trailer be in the same movie style as the original warning of the Doctor about the Weeping Angels, VHS-style)
Different Skins:
- A starved Angel
- A broken Angel
- Regular Statue (Not the appearance of a Weeping Angel)
- Statue of Liberty
- Baby Angel (as an adult)
Mori:
The victim (survivor) walks backwards away from the Angel, a light flickers, and then the Angel gets a scary and angry face before it snaps the neck of the survivor and then a portal opens and sucks the survivor back to the past.
Picking up Survivors:
The Angel will use never before seen magic to lift up the survivor without having to bend down or move its stone arms, think of it like telekinesis.
Hooking:
The same magic which is used to pick up survivors is used to put them on the hook, think of it like telekinesis.
Map:
The cave which they were seen in during the Doctor Who show with the Doctor, Amy, and River when they were forced through the Byzantium.
