Trapper's hook fortress
I love most of the Trapper changes, I really like the speed boost for loops. Makes him so much more fun. Thats the fun way of playing Trapper imo. But there are Trappers that are using the buff to trap amount with the purple sack to have 10 traps, and the addon where Trappers immune to his traps. Put a survivor on a hook (either basement or some hook with enclosed entry points) and then just building a fortress of traps around them.
Had a game on red forest (main building basement, not shack basement). The Trapper just trapped pretty much every way out of the main building. There was nothing you could do if the Trapper got a down close enough to the basement. (You could do this before but obviously 2 more traps means 2 less escape routes. And sometimes that can be all the difference). On pretty much any map with enclosed doorways that are essential to get to a hook (lerys, midwich, rpd, thompson house, ect) its nearly impossible to get a save. Not the funnest thing, but guess they are playing into their strengths. Should you just let the survivor die in these cases or try to save?

Case by case deal.
But it can be done.
No matter the situation, even a soloQ gathering. Rescue in this case is possible.
It would be strange if SWF couldn't do it.
There are 6 escape paths from the main building
With 4 traps along the basement stair. The better way to counter is leave survivor to die and do gen. More effective, no risk, no effort.
Which is why I always think purple bag basekit without downside is really bad for his game play. People still can do it with the right perks and addon. Devs dont want Trapper can also do it without perk/addon effectively.
My boy trapper finally made it out the hood…
Yeah there are some maps worse than red forest for this because of just how their rooms spawn, normally with little entry points only via doors and windows. Thank you for going into more detail than i did with how the map works. But at least with the sack he can't pick back up the traps. So it makes it a little better. From what i gathered disturbed ward is pretty much the worst for it because it's easily accessible for trapper most parts of the map. And has the easiest trappable exits.
I've played a lot of basement lockdown trapper it is possible to get a save out, more so with the built in endurance.
Definitely some maps are better than others for the set up.
What should be in everybody's mind when fleeing from a killer, especially one with a strong defensive strategy is "am I running toward the basement?" If the answer is yes you need to run elsewhere.
