A usage for keys and counter play to basement
I think both keys are currently underwhelming as well as basement is a huge advantage for killers. Just about any killer can win a game with a basement hook secured. Make it so keys can unlock a backdoor to the basement. The killer can still take time to close the door back up, but if used properly would allow for a quick/safe unhook that the killer might not have suspected.
