Rework of Skull Merchant's Addons: "Shotgun Speakers" & "Adi Valente Issue 1" + Overcharge
Hello Dead by Daylight community and developers,
As an active and engaged member of the Dead by Daylight community, I wanted to address an issue that has been affecting my gameplay and that of many other players. This issue pertains to the Skull Merchant's addons, specifically the "Shotgun Speakers" & "Adi Valente Issue 1".
The effects of these addons are as follows:
- They suppress the warning sound of Skill for Survivors inside the Area of Effect of a Drone, an effect that persists for 15 seconds after leaving the Area of Effect.
- They reduce the size of Skill for Survivors inside the Area of Effect of a Drone by -20%, an effect that again lingers for 15 seconds after leaving the Area of Effect.
Together, these effects can create an exceedingly difficult scenario for survivors, especially when paired with the Overcharge perk. The issue goes beyond a challenging game mechanic, as the silent and reduced size skill checks significantly increase the difficulty of consistently hitting Overcharge skill checks.
Even more concerning is that the combination of these addons with the Overcharge perk leaves survivors with little to no counterplay options. It disrupts the game's balance, turning what should be a competitive and enjoyable experience into an overly daunting task.
With these points in mind, I urge the developers to reconsider the current mechanics of these addons. Whether it's a complete removal, a substantial rework to make their effects less disruptive, or ensuring the Overcharge perk is not influenced by these addons, a change is necessary for the continued balance and enjoyment of the game.
Your time and understanding are greatly appreciated. I acknowledge that balancing a game such as Dead by Daylight is complex and requires careful consideration of numerous factors. I trust that this issue will be addressed with the same dedication you've shown in creating this game we all enjoy.
