Weighted matchmaking based on how "sweaty" your build is?
SBMM helps players learn new killers without the fear of facing the usual tough opposition. But what if the matchmaking system could also look for easier/tougher matches based on your loadout?
The devs could track perk usage on their end, and the matchmaking system could look at equipped perks when the player queues.
For each perk equipped:
- If it's in the top 25% usage (meta), their rating is slightly increased.
- If it's in the bottom 25% (meme), their rating is slightly decreased.
- Perks between these ranges have no effect on the rating.
Items and addons could also be considered, based on rarity:
- Iri & Purple increasing their rating,
- Green & Yellow have no effect,
- Brown & empty decrease their rating
This would mean that full meta builds with iri items and addons will be facing tougher opponents, and meme builds with a brown addon face easier opponents.

(This would mean that perk/item/addon slots would have to be locked when selecting Find a Match, and remain locked in the lobby. Survivor choice would also have to be locked to prevent them from changing characters and thusly their build.)
Which, at that point, is it worth having a lobby if no one can make changes?
They could only spend Bloodpoints and decide whether or not to dodge based on ping or appearances.
The problem here is that the scaling isn't nearly as clean as you'd like it to be. Something like the Hyperfocus/Stakeout build isn't run all that frequently and so wouldn't be counted as the ultra-sweaty build that it is, and something absurdly strong like Lucky Break/Overcome/Bite the Bullet would actively decrease the rating since those perks are rarely run.
Then on the flipside, you have perks that are run all the time but that aren't really sweaty, they're just nice perks to have.
Then for addons, you've got places where they'd be backwards too. Take Demogorgon- the strongest addon combination for him, more or less, would be the Barb's Glasses and Black Heart build, two addons that wouldn't rate particularly highly in this system. Compare to a meme build that involves his purples, and we've got a problem.
If you want the matchmaking to make a distinction between those playing sweaty and those goofing around, the more established way of doing that would be to add a ranked mode. I don't personally think that's a good idea, but it's the way you'd achieve something like this.
Then they could look at all the perk's escape rates instead.
If people aren't escaping with their perks then you can't call those perks sweaty; especially if they're looking at the top 25%
It's hard to define what is "meta".
Windows of opportunity is most used perk, but I wouldn't really call it strongest perks.
You would also have to lock all items, perks etc.
It would nerf quite a lot of perks. Mainly franklin's demise tho. I like to pick build based on what I see in my lobby. This would remove that.
Not worth it imo
