Killer idea : The Archivist
Backstory: The Archivist was once a diligent historian and librarian, tasked with preserving and organizing the vast collection of knowledge housed in a prestigious institution. But after years of thankless toil and bitter isolation, she began to resent those who took for granted the fruits of her labor. In a fit of madness, she decided to record not just the books and manuscripts in her care, but also the very lives of those who crossed her path. Now, armed with her trusty recorder and a twisted sense of curiosity, she seeks to capture and control her prey in the trials of the Entity.
Power: Record
Press m1 to enter Record mode. If the Archivist holds m1, they can choose a survivor to record. If they tap, they record themself. This allows The Archivist to select a survivor or herself and record their movements and interactions for the next 10 seconds. The recorded clip will be saved in The Archivist's storage, which can hold up to 3 clips at a time. The Archivist can switch between clips equipped by pressing the m2. After a clip is taken, it cannot be used for 3 seconds to avoid instant playing.
Power : ReplayPress the active ability button to enter Replay mode on any interactive element on the map. This allows The Archivist to place a selected clip at any location in the trial, creating a hologram of the recorded survivor. If the interaction in the clip matches the location placed, the hologram will play out the recorded actions and affect the environment accordingly. For example, if a clip of a survivor dropping a pallet is placed in front of The Archivist, the pallet will be dropped in that location.
The Archivist can switch between Reverse - Forward mode by holding m2 (takes 2s to switch between each mode).
An example of a way the killer can use this power is to record a survivor dropping a pallet, and when the survivor drops the next pallet, use reverse mode to play the recording at said pallet and lift the pallet up instantly.
In addition, the killer can also record survivors repairing generators, and can reverse the progress on any generator by using reverse mode + playing a recording at a generator.
Survivors see a purple indicator icon whenever they are being recorded. Good survivors who keep track of what actions of theirs got recorded will avoid making the same play to avoid the Archivist's wrath.
Perks :
- "Echoes of History" - Your memories of past struggles help you navigate the present. Whenever a generator is completed or a survivor uses a pallet or window, you gain a token up to a maximum of 3 tokens. Each token reveals the aura of any survivor who performs the same action as the original survivor for a duration of 5 seconds. This perk has a cooldown of 60 seconds.
- "Lasting Impression" - Your actions leave a lasting impression on the environment. Whenever you break a pallet or damage a generator, the affected area(25 meter wide) becomes contaminated with your presence for a duration of 20/25/30 seconds. Survivors who perform actions in the contaminated area suffer a 5/10/15% penalty to repair, healing, and sabotage speeds. This perk has a cooldown of 60 seconds.
- "Mind Game Mastery" - You are skilled in tricking survivors into making mistakes. Whenever a survivor is within 10 meters of a window, pallet, or vault location that you have blocked or damaged in the past 30 seconds, you gain a notification and your terror radius is reduced by 4/6/8 meters for the next 10 seconds. Additionally, if a survivor performs the blocked or damaged interaction within the 10 seconds, they suffer from the Exposed status effect for 15 seconds. This perk has a cooldown of 80 seconds.
