I Would Love A Hotline Miami Collab

With Masked Murderers, an 80's aesthetic, multiple recognizable characters, and a number of creepy scenes with death not being just a constant but a theme in its storytelling, I believe Hotline Miami would be an excellent fit for DBD's collection of IPs.

I think the obvious choice for the killer would be Jacket himself, the face of Hotline Miami. Able to wear a large amount of masks and wield many weapons, he could be a very customizable killer. His various masks grant him unique powers, which could be fun to see in Dead By Daylight. Being able to swap between different powers at the drop of a hat could make for some very dynamic gameplay. A killer changing powers was explored a little bit with Freddy, but I think a Hotline Miami chapter would be a good opportunity to go all the way with power swapping.

Now what about survivors? I think there are two main options here, the first being

The only character in the game who you can clear stages with without killing a single person, who still can have the potential for violence if you so choose. As a journalist/writer looking into the 1989 masked maniac killings, he would have a connection to our killer, making for some fun story opportunities. His dedication to non-lethality and search for the truth make for a strong character around which you could base some perks. Of course he's not the only option for a survivor, there's also

Beard

Real name unknown, ex special forces operative, brother-in-arms of jacket, and the other face of Hotline Miami, Beard would make an excellent choice for a survivor. His military experience, calming presence, laid-back attitude and seeming omnipresence would all make for interesting foundations for perks. And then of course he has a direct connection to our killer. Two brothers-in-arms suddenly pitted against each other would definitely make for some good storytelling.

Did someone say cosmetics?

This would be a collab with plenty of potential for cosmetics. Here are a few examples.

What's this? A group of friends/murderers that feature 4 unique masks? If only there was a killer in Dead By Daylight with a similar dynamic!

Biker

A motorcyclist with pink being a prominent color of his outfit? While it may involve some gender bending, this would make a good cosmetic for Yui, with variations for the helmet on and off.

Janitor

An unassuming worker who is actually a leader? Idk about you, but that kinda sounds like Dwight to me!

Mobster

While there's no real character connection here, I do think Ace would look sharp as hell in this iconic white and blue suit. Alternatively he could also look good in the Colombian mob's black and magenta suits.


Would this Collab be possible?

I think it would be, yes. The Developers have shown willingness to do crossovers with other games, with their characters showing up in games such as Payday 2, Fall Guys, Dead Cells, and Cook, Serve, Delicious!
