Give the Eruption its old stats.

I don't understand your thought process at all:

1) a perk that almost no one uses;

2) a buff that no one asked for;

3) the perk becomes obvious OP;

3) everyone is starting to use it;

4) an overpowered nerf that makes the perk practically inapplicable;

5) no one uses the perk AT ALL.

It happened with Overcharge, now it will happen with my favorite (even before the buff) Eruption. Don't. Return everything as it was. Nobody cared, so why would afterwards?

There are already enough dead-born perks in this game. Work with them, no one will mind.

  • Plus, (and I think this opinion will not be controversial) half of the recent rebalance needs to be undone. For both sides. You overdid it a bit with the destruction of the meta.

    If I understand your aspirations correctly, a particular perk should be no more likely to be picked than any other.

    However, the notional Ruin has been killed so much that no one is using it now. You overdid it with this perk and many others.

    I'm not a game stats analyst, but:

    1) if you want equality, oblivion is just as bad as meta status;

    2) it seems to me that happy medium should be in the middle(!) between complete inapplicability and "must have".

    So, again, half of the rebalance should be undone. And, for the future, dividing the stats by two is not a universal measure.

  • yeah basically. The old version was what, 6% regression and 10 seconds incapacitated? It was pretty bad compared meta at the time, like Pop and Ruin, and also bad compared to off-meta like Surge. But with Call of Brine or Overcharge, OG Eruption would still have a niche as a supporting perk for killers that desperately want to get some extra regression.

    As for game balancing, having a massive number of borderline unusable perks means that the few perks that ARE decent are going to be seen very often. That's really the true cause of DbD's meta of "the same four or five perks every game". It's not that you need the absolute best stuff to win, it's that most everything else just sucks so bad that there's no reason to run it.
