Eruption does NOT need this Change
The new version of Eruption would absolutely ruin the usability of the perk to an unacceptable degree that it's not even funny. While I agree that its incapacitation effect was horrible and could have been removed, its 10% regression on total generator progress was not that bad at all and had a hefty requirement of setting it up behind it.
This change is not it, though, and it feels like a kneejerk reaction regardless of how long you waited to implement this change.
There will be no inherent value to using the Perk with its new effects, and this Perk will just simply sink into obscurity without the ability to do any meaningful thing. This Perk will be effectively dead in the water unless something changes, and then something else far worse will pop up in its place.
So please, reconsider changing the Perk to something else. This is not it. I'll even throw a suggestion to you because something needs to happen to keep this Perk usable.
Here's what I'd do if I were you guys:
- Eruption regresses any affected Generator by 10%, and each additional Generator kicked adds an additional 1% penalty to regression, up to 16%.
- When a Survivor is put into the Dying State, all Survivors within 24 meters (or 16) of an affected Generator will have their auras revealed for 10/15/20 seconds. While within that range, Survivors will additionally be afflicted with the Exhaustion and Oblivious status effects.
- Eruption has a cooldown of 30 seconds.
This would keep the Perk as a very usable one that would allow Killers to be able to get a jump on Survivors after trapping the Generators with Eruption, and would give Killers the ability to snowball a game against Survivors that are very unwary of their presence.
This would also ensure that solo Survivors still don't get frustrated while repairing a Generator, as they can still repair it (albeit at the risk of being caught off guard by the Killer).
Come on, anything would be better than to kill this Perk. (Especially while Dead Hard still exists to be the Survivor equivalent of it.)

Beats the hell out of their idea, though that is a very very low bar.
