Dead Hard is not fine
Dead Hard is an unhealthy perk for both sides.
When playing as survivor, Dead Hard:
- Sometimes just does not work (Frustration)
- Is far more latency sensitive action than anything else in the game, practically unusable if you have 100 ping (Frustration, Exclusion)
- Cannot be combined with the new anti-tunnel perk Off The Record due to the way endurance works (Less perk variety)
- Can be prevented by basekit borrowed time damage, the legion frenzy attacks, deathslinger power attack, the knight's assassin attack and pinhead's original pain add-on (Frustration, bad game design)
When playing as killer, dead hard:
- Causes killers to hesitate lunging every survivor until they can confirm they have dead hard, after which they no longer will lunge at those injured survivors (Frustration, entire game dictating)
- Creates lose-lose micro-situations in chases where if they do not hit, survivor drops the pallet or makes a window vault (Frustration)
- Causes the legion to deep wound survivors that they would not have previously, causing survivors to be hit more, which feels bad. (Frustration, annoying)
- Causes the knight and the nemesis to be able to give survivor speed boosts by forcing the guards or zombies to hit survivors that are dead harding (Frustration)
Overall i feel that the current version of dead hard makes dead by daylight a more frustrating experience for both sides, therefore i cannot see why anyone would see this perk as fine.
Also forgot to mention that this perk effectively gives subtle cheaters a 3rd health state, which is near impossible to prove or detect, making this perk be usable as a very impactful but undetectable cheat.
