New killer idea

I think this would be unique for a killer. Let's say he has the ability to reverse time in certain areas around the map with devices he has. He is a time traveling killer.

Killer name: Clockwork

Killer ability and/or perks: has 5 metal poles he can stick around the map with a 20-30 meter radius (testing needed), Whenever survivors walk into this radius during a chase, if they drop pallets, they get instantly reversed back up, if they hop through a window they get instantly reversed back, if they run in a circle they get frozen for a few seconds, if they are working on a gen it is slowed down by 3%, killer gets alerted whenever a survivor walks into the radius (hex perk), hooks in the radius become scorge hooks and deplete health faster on hooked survivors, healing takes longer.

Survivors can remove the pole from the ground to stop the radius effects, killer can pick it back up and place it again, killer can transport between poles until one survivor dies.

What do you think?

  • The ability doesn't really sound like a time travel killer other than the window hoping, more like an area trapper. Which is probably for the best because I doubt the engine can actually handle anything like that. Which is a pity because I'm totally down for the out of place Prince of Persia crossover.

Without getting too into the balance issues - the general idea sounds like one that experienced players would crush relatively easily. They'd pretty quickly learn the tells of whether they were in an area or not and whether it was worth disabling or avoiding. Unlike the Trapper's ability which can be a mind game, given this is a radius effect it would be easy to find the pole based upon when you hit the radius outer edge.

I like the idea of killer having an ability that lasts until a survivor dies as a balance issue, but that's not really how killer's are designed so it would be a pretty big change.

I'd also like a new killer with the Demogorgon ability to set up their own teleport areas for those who don't have him.

  • Unique idea, but it'd be an absolute coding nightmare.
