A humble question about DLCs and iri shards
Assuming that i have bought both Artist and Jonah with iri shards. The game does not consider it as having a DLC.
And now. If my friend will bought me this DLC not knowing i already have those characters. What will happen?
Will i get my iri shards back? Will game recognize i have this DLC and prevent from spending money? Or nothing happen and my friend will loose their money for the thing i already have?

I don't think it will recognize the DLC as you would not have all the DLC's content : buying it comes with a charm if I remember correctly.
In some cases you can get Iri Shards refunds, but the only time it happened with a friend that I can think of there was a very short time between buying with shards and buying the DLC which contained the killer.
If you're on Steam, the platform will always ask you if you accept the gift from your friend or not. Declining the gift will credit them their money back on the platform.
So in doubt, you could always do that !
You will not get anything back and your friend will have spent the normal amount of money, but you will now own the DLC and will also get that Jonah shirt that’s only obtainable when buying the chapter as DLC
You will get exclusive item. Every Chapter DLC that you buy from Steam in DbD has some skin (usualy a recolor or a charm, nothing big).
Other than that, it's a waste of money if you allready own these characters. And no, there are no refunds for shards.
That sounds like greed, this sucks.
But yeah, it seems i can just decline the gift.
