BHVR, please heavily reconsider the Pain Resonance/Dead Mans Switch changes

I understand that Merciless storm had an outlier case that made it strong under very specific circumstances, but I genuinely do not understand the thinking behind this change.

The Pain Resonance/DMS combination happens more frequently, lasts longer, and is completely uninteractive.

With Merciless Storm, survivors can simply get off the generator and have it be blocked for 20 seconds. (It doesn't even count as a failed skill check.) Merciless Storm can also only happen once per generator, meaning there is a very hard cap on its uses, while also allowing survivors to negate its effects entirely if they are good enough at the checks.

If you let these changes go live, Dead Mans becomes significantly worse outside of its combination with Pain Res, while being far too strong of a 2 perk investment.

I don't mean to sound rude here, but the removal of that combination specifically was one of the most healthy changes made during the most recent large update, and the fact you are undoing that change, while nerfing DMS on its own, instead of simply giving an upper limit to the amount of skill checks merciless storm can produce, is incredibly off the mark in my opinion.

  • I'd rather have DMs back to 45 seconds and not interact with Pain Res. Why on earth did they have to nerf a half decent perk in the process of fixing an issue with an entirely unrelated perk? All they had to do was make merc storm have a max amount of skillchecks thrown to the survivor.
