Matchmaking is terrible
Its probably the biggest concern im hearing from the Dead by Daylight Community , particularly Streamers and i think so myself. Rank seems to be worthless because sometimes you get matched with total newbies and sometimes pros. Also Rank 1 shouldnt be the highest Rank or it should be harder to achieve Rank 1. From my experience its all about playing enough games to get there, not if you deserve to be there skillwise. So i think there should be a total overhaul for matchmaking to make it more balanced and that you feel like the highest Rank is actually worth anything.

Your Grade no longer has anything to do with who you are matched with, it is sort of just a way to get free blood points every month at this point. Your MMR is what determines who you play against, and it goes up and down when you escape or die. The amount of MMR you lose or gain is based on the killer you go against.
I agree that it is silly your Grade isn't tied to match making anymore, I think at the very least MMR should be turned off until you reach Gold or Red ranks. Even the way you get pips as a survivor is kind of wonky based on how you gain and lose MMR. There is a world you can reach red ranks without ever escaping, games keep getting easier, but you are technically ranking up.
Instead of redoing the entire ranksystem i think a decent solution would be to add addional ranks beyond rank 1. So there is at least a bit higher skillcap to grind towards.
This has been my experience as well. Matchmaking is as trash as it has ever been. BHVR might as well turn it off permanently and never spend another minute of people time on it because it’s a waste of resources.
