This Should be the Next Patch
Disclaimer: None of this will regard any potential bug or issue the game currently has. Just balance changes or nice quality of life additions that may be necessary considering the current state of the game.
This is the time to not only change the Perks that were worked on previously, but actually also alter some Perks where it would be very nice to have these changes. The following is a list of changes that I'm hoping to see in either patch 6.1.1, or in a future patch down the road, to further improve the quality and fun of the gameplay.
A "*" next to a Perk's name indicates that it wasn't changed within patch 6.1.0 and rather would be a new alteration.
Calm Spirit
- Buff: Removed the action speed penalty.
This change is simple; it removes the unnecessary action speed penalty that Calm Spirit applies whenever you're doing either a Totem or Chest action, as there is another Perk that has similar noise reduction effects (Pharmacy) that also applies an increase to the action speed.
Decisive Strike
- New Effect: Once this Perk is activated, you gain a 10% Haste status effect for the next 15 seconds.
While the intention of the reduction was to reverse a change made to Decisive Strike from many patches ago, this Perk is barely of any use for the Survivor due to the extremely low duration that Decisive Strike applies to the Killer.
However, to keep in line with the intention to reduce the duration, but also the intention of making this Perk an anti-tunnel Perk in the most literal sense, Decisive Strike now gives the Survivor a Haste status effect once it is activated, in order to actively discourage the Killer from pursuing that Survivor.
Distortion
- Buff: Reduced the time required to gain a Token to 20 seconds.
Another relatively simple change. Getting new stacks for Distortion takes a little too long, and considering that players can get far more worthwhile stacks in the Perk known as Stake Out, it would feel right to reduce the time required to gain Distortion tokens.
Hope
- Nerf: Duration reverted back to 120 seconds.
Never again.
Off the Record
- Nerf: The duration of Off the Record's Endurance status effect is reduced to 30 seconds after being unhooked for a second time.
The current problem with Off the Record is the potential that it has in completely shutting down the potential options that a Killer has, especially in the event that a Survivor using the Perk decides to take hits for their rescuer and create tunneling situations to happen. This is not optimal, so now the Perk has a duration of 30 seconds when the player is unhooked for a second time.
Spine Chill
- Nerf: Spine Chill no longer activates when a Killer is Undetectable.
Due to the current change to Spine Chill, it is currently impossible for Killers with stealth abilities to properly use their stealth in order to surprise Survivors or get the jump on them as intended. This is also not optimal, so now the Perk just does not work whenever a Killer is Undetectable.
We're Gonna Live Forever
- New Effect: Grants 100% additional Bloodpoints to the Altruism category.
Barbecue & Chili
- New Effect: Grants 100% additional Bloodpoints to the Sacrifice category.
The new effects to both We're Gonna Live Forever and Barbecue & Chili come off the cusp of the increased amount of earnable Bloodpoints in the Trial, as well as the removal of the Bonus Bloodpoints you can earn from these Perks.
These two Perks now offer an alternative benefit to using them in addition to their natural effects, increasing the amount of earnable Bloodpoints from score events. Since there are Perks that also do this, such as Prove Thyself to the Objective Category, Beast of Prey to the Hunting Category and Distressing to the Deviousness Category, these Perks would fit right on in with the current ones being used.
Blood Echo*
- Rework: Blood Echo has now become Scourge Hook: Blood Echo.
- The perk now applies the Hemorrhage and Exhaustion status effects upon hooking Survivors on a Scourge Hook.
- The duration of these status effects is now 35/40/45 seconds.
This simple change would be a rather highly requested one. Since the introduction of Scourge Hooks, people have wanted Blood Echo to be altered into a Scourge Hook perk. Well, now is currently the opportunity to alter it, similarly to how Monstrous Shrine had become a Scourge Hook perk.
Blood Warden*
- Quality of Life: Blood Warden's second tier effects are now 45 seconds.
This has been a problem since the introduction of Blood Warden.
Overcharge
- Buff: Increased the base regression speed of Overcharge to 100%.
- Buff: Reduced the amount of time that Overcharge reaches its maximum regression speed to 15 seconds.
The current effects of Overcharge make it feel like an extremely underwhelming Perk despite the intention to rework it into something viable to use. This is because of the reduction in regression in the live version of the Perk, and the lack of incentive to use it over a Perk like Call of Brine. So, two changes were added in order to compensate. The minimum regression speed is now base once again, and it reaches maximum regression n 15 seconds to compensate the maximum regression being halved.
Thanatophobia
- Nerf: Reduced the amount of slowdown caused by Thanatophobia to 3%/4%/5%.
Never again.
If this somehow gets to the attention of the Perk balance team, please consider these changes.
