New Universal Killer Perk: Encroaching Darkness
Encroaching Darkness
You've adapted to your prey's tactics and have developed ways to use it against them.
- When the Trial begins, Encroaching Darkness activates for the next 50/55/60 seconds and the following effects are applied:
- You are granted the Undetectable status effect.
- Your movement speed is increased by 25%.
- This effect does not apply to Powers that affect movement speed.
- Both effects will prematurely deactivate upon starting a chase with a Survivor, Injuring them by any means, putting them in the Dying State by any means, or afflicting them with Infection or Laceration.
"It's as if there's a built-up rage within these people and monsters as more of their prey slip away from them time after time again. A madness that, over time, has only served to fuel them." -The Enigma
Why is this a Perk Concept?
- Killers that lack a faster method of traversal through the map often have a harder time getting the game started from their perspective due to the lack of mobility that they have. This, as you can tell, is an undesirable situation since Killers such as Spirit, Blight, Nurse, Legion, Hillbilly and Wraith tend to have it easier to locate Survivors at the beginning of the match due to their superior movement speeds, and Onryo and Dredge can teleport to Survivors early.
- This Perk basically compensates every Killer with that lack of mobility by giving them an extra boost in getting to their target as soon as possible at the beginning of the match, and overall makes the beginning of the game feel like less of a slog for players who are either new or want to get the match started.
- This Perk does not completely benefit Killers whose powers modify movement speeds, as it is designed only to affect base movement speed and nothing more; this means that this Perk is more effective on someone like Doctor or Nemesis than somebody like Hillbilly or Blight, who primarily benefit from it.
- And since this is removed upon starting chase or injuring Survivors, Killers who are already good as-is will benefit even less from it while Killers who don't have good mobility just benefit more.
- TL;DR: This Perk is meant to make up for most Killers with a lack of mobility having less early game pressure than Killers who do have great mobility.
I think this would be just the perfect Perk to add in for Killers; it wouldn't completely benefit them since it would deactivate as soon as any game-progressing action is done by their hand, but it would do just enough to give them the ability to either set up or make a good play at the beginning of the game.
Disclaimer: I am not to be held responsible for the increased amount of Shape and Ghost Face players that will occur as a result of this Perk concept due to the fact they can stalk from afar and also go incredibly fast normally.

nice idea but this looks like a worse lethal pursuer.
IMO this should activate every something something. Like after every hook, after every gen completed or something like that and then maybe tone down the effects.
I like the idea of a perk that gives you stealth and mobility until you find a survivor or to get places you want to go but I'm not too sure if stealth and speed at the start of the match until you see a survivor is good enough to use as a perk. Trail of Torment still exists.
Buff for Trapper's setup, let's go...
Honestly, this is just something that should be an effect killer gets when outside of chase for too long.
