I strongly believe that Pyramid Head is becoming outdated and incredibly frustrating to play
in this discussion I will mainly talk about its ranged attack and its add-ons.
I believe that Pyramid Head has aged badly over time, even if its rail of torments prove useful in avoiding DS / BT and can be considered its strength it must be said that one cannot think the same of its ranged attacks and of most of its addons.
Pyramid Head is currently in a situation where he is being severely punished for everything related to his power: Rites of Judgment and Punishment of the Damned.
Pyramid Head is too slow in any action regarding its power, from charging it up to releasing it or just faking it (and the latter doesn't allow you to attack with a basic attack for too long) and I don't even want to mention how long the ability takes to hit, literally it can only be used if the survivor is stuck in some animation or pays too little attention.
Another of his problems with him is how slow he is to turn around as he uses Rites of Judgment for no apparent reason (since Nemesis has a really similar power but without all Pyramid Head's downsides)
So here I got an idea, being that most of his addons are completely useless, these could be reworked to lighten many of these "punishments" that this character has, I allowed myself to think about some changes:
Green addon Misty Day, Remains of Judgment:
-Current Effect: Increases Killer Instinct duration when triggered by Rites of Judgment by +1 second.
-New effect: Decrease the time to charge Rites of Judgment by X%
Purple Addon Rust-Colored Egg:
-Current Effect: Survivors affected by Rites of Judgment suffer from the Blindness Status Effect for 60s
-New Effect: Decrease the time to recovery from Punishment of The Damned by X%
Purple Addon Lost Memories Book:
-Current Effect: Survivors affected by Rites of Judgment suffer from the Oblivious Status Effect for 15 seconds.
-New Effect: The clunkyness of the camera while charging Rites of Judgment decrease of X%
Red Addon Obsidian Goblet:
-Current Effect: The Executioner gains the Undetectable Status Effect when standing on a Rites of Judgment trail.
-New Effect: Totally removes the clunkyness of the camera while charging Rites of Judgment

I have posted MANY times in MANY threads much to the same as your assessment. What it all boils down to is: PH has the ability to negate BT and DS against bad survivors. Despite these two perks being OPTIONAL, this terrible sin has condemned him to some of the worst (non-butchering) balance decisions in the game.
Is PH better than post-nerf Freddy, Wraith, Deathslinger? Yeah. Does he need all the layers upon layers of self-nerfs his kit has baked into it? No. Does he deserve a complete addon overhaul from top to bottom? For sure. Will he ever get one? Probably not.
i hate when people just tell me that, in high mmr survivors just avoid torment in loops leaving the loop, even if it cost them their life because they know that being tormented is 100% worst than just being hooked and they constantly try to bait your M2 and dodge it, you can't really use PH if people knows how to play around him.
Yes, that's correct. PH has significant counterplay options for survivors, but was nerfed in rapid succession like four times within a week or two of release because he was new and BHVR was super reactionary at the time.
It'd be like Clown getting nerfed because surivors never left loops and he's strong at loops.
Pyramid Head's add-ons are a real issue since it seems to be universally agreed on that his best ones are those that increase his Punishment of the Damned attack range and none of the other add-ons even come close despite being of higher rarity.
I think they should increase the base power of it slightly and just get rid of all those add-ons so they'll be some variety.
I'm not sure about being worse than Nemesis though since he needs two hits with his whip attack to do damage and Pyramid Head can attack through walls.
I think they're only his best addons only due to his others being so bad. But they themselves aren't that great. Yeah you get longer range, but 90% of survivors don't dodge backwards, they dodge side to side. His problem is the very long animation and easy tell of his power. It's so bad that it's literally useless in most situations unless they're in a very slim choke point. In 90% of situations his power hurts you more than it helps you. Which is sad because very few killers have powers that are actually more detrimental to them. Mainly him and pinhead. In most situations they're better to use them as just normal m1 killers because using their power would hurt you more than help you. And they're both carried by having good passive abilities.
