Self-Care Needed A Rework, Not A Nerf TBH.

Issues With The Nerf

Self-Care getting nerfed I feel like is going to do a lot of harm to newer players, the ability to self-heal is powerful, but you need to know when to do it, and that's the issue, newer players don't know when to do it. Most newer players pick up Self-Care because they think "Infinite self-heals? That sounds amazing" when in reality it can be hinderance to the team if done over and over.

Even in high MMR, it had utility, but still wasn't as insanely strong as BHVR made it out to be, the ability to self-heal within itself is strong, the time it takes weakens it a lot. I literally never met a player that complained about Self-Care "being too strong" within modern DbD.

So where does this leave Self-Care? Well Boon: Circle of Healing will definitely take it's place. Self-Care will just be a new player trap that destroys low MMR lobbies.

Idea: Rework Self-Care entirely (same with Boon: Circle of Healing, don't nerf B:COH, rework it) to give it an entirely new effect.

Rework Idea

Allow me to introduce drum roll please my idea for a better Self-Care...

When going from the healthy state to the injured state, this perk gains a single token, a maximum of 1 token can be tied to this perk at a given time.

While injured, consume a token by holding the action button to heal 30%/ 40%/ 50% progress over 12 seconds. This healing progress cannot be lost unless changing a health state.

Why This Rework Idea In Particular

Self-Care at high MMR is either used to start partly healing to have it be finished by others, or to finish a heal that was otherwise interrupted by the killer. This version of Self-Care will allow survivors to start healing or finish off a heal when interrupted.

This also allows the perk to have synergies with otherwise non-meta perks, such as Resurgence and Solidarity, pushing unique but underused perks a bit more forwards.

The healing C/S is slightly faster than Self-Care, but does come at the restriction of the % of heal you gain overall as well as not being able to be repeatedly used over and over. If you get put into the dying state after using it, the healing % you got is lost, and you don't have any more tokens until you go from the healthy state to the injured state again, making it so you have to decide when to use it properly.
