Perks rework

Hello! This is my first post here, and I didn't find anything similar. I want to make a suggestion about the on going meta perks revision that has been announced.

What if instead of nerfing some meta perks based on how often they are used, we put a point system to them?

Let me explain:

Let's say survivors have 10 points to make their builds. The meta perks would cost 4 points each, so if the most used perks for survs was Dead Hard and Iron will, using them would consume 8 points, which would force them to choose perks rated as 1, always based on the % of usage. This would avoid meta builds like DS, DH, Iron Will and Unbreakable, keeping the metas from getting nerfs.

The same would apply to killer, but it should be individual. For Huntress, Iron Maiden would be a 4 points perk, while for M1 killers STBL, for example, would be the same. So, base on the % of the perks used for each killer, this system (or any improvement on it) would make people vary their builds.

  • Ehh... then it comes to the matter of them deciding what points they should assign to all their perks which can be subjective (unless they assign using pure data on how often a perk is used). I feel like it also doesn't address the core issues of why meta perks are meta. This just seems more like a band aid fix, which I think they are trying to avoid that. From what they said, they're going to make base game changes along with the perk redesign, so in theory, things should get better from a balance perspective. This change just doesn't seem too helpful at addressing the main issue of meta perks.

  • You see, that's the point. It wouldn't be a subjective choice, it would be based on use %.
