Hillbilly Needs a Buff

Hillbilly is a killer with a very simple problem: His power is very well known.

Survivors know exactly how his power works along with the most common tricks that hillbillies now. This also means that survivors know how to dodge chainsaws consistently from long range and decently at close ranges.

Hillbilly can learn to counter these tactics but the fact that you have to learn to counter them in the first place is a problem. When compared to a killers like Oni or Bubba, Hillbilly has to learn a lot for very little. Bubba is a very powerful killer even in the hands of a new player and while Oni takes a lot of skill to master, the Oni can very quickly cripple an entire if they know where people are.

Curving, while being very powerful, is also reliant on survivors staying in loops and not just leaving. It also is very difficult to pull off even if you know what you are doing.

Another issue are the cool downs, both with over heat and with indivual chain saw swings themselves. If you miss a survivor, they get a couple of seconds to get to a loop before you can m1 them.

Speaking of M1, Oni does this better as well. As Oni, you only need to hit a survivor once to make the chase worthwhile. Even if they heal, they still drop blood for your power. Hillbilly on the other hand needs to down a survivor to make the chase worth while.

How then do we buff Hillbilly to make him more viable?

The first option is to make it so that Hillbilly can't bump into objects during his curving phase of the chainsaw. This would make his chainsaw a lot more unpredictable, open new options for curving, and make him accessible.

Another option if we want a straight up buff rather than a QOL update would be to let him lunge after a chainsaw sprint. This would add more power to his kit and make long range chainsaws more threatening.

A third option is to make it so that his chainsaw sprint starting hitbox is larger so survivors have a harder time dodging. I don't like this option that much, but it is an option.

Overall, I feel like Hillbilly is just outdated and needs some buffs to make him worthwhile to play when compared to killers like the Oni.
