Is it possible the Observer and Vigo have come into contact, and this is leading to the disappearance. I know it sounds crazy, but if we go back and take a look at two, entries, located in the video below.

It talks of someone who is seeking the Observer or at least trying to gain his attention could it be that Vigo has been in search of the Observer and perhaps found him and took him with him to a completely new realm using the power of Auric Cells could be a good reason why the Auris has been left behind since it's no longer needed if Vigo can Control Auric Cells. We know Vigo is alive because he escaped using Putrid Serum. The Observer also hints that someone is leaving something inside the Trials; the only person known to be leaving things inside the Trials is indeed Vigo could be a stretch, but I think it's highly possible Observer and Vigo have fled together to fight against the entity.
