solo q / swf gap should be fixed before killer/survivors balance

The game being survivor or killer sided is a debate that we see constantly in this community, for good reason as the balance of the game is its core. However, I believe the game isn't sided for one specific side, or if it is there isn't any way we could know in the state of the game.

I'm not going to develop the fact that knowing which side the game favors would mean the SBMM is accurate and effective, which isn't the case, or the fact that the balance is different for every killer and every map available. Also i'd like to remind everyone that the people asking for changes are not new players and therefore are more likely to be high MMR, however, while the game should ideally be balanced for very high MMR, it should also be balanced for new and casual players.

Currently it seems sweaty swf have the winning hand while killers reach high MMR quicker because 4Ks against newbies is the norm, so while killers in high MMR demand buffs or survivor nerfs, survivors in solo q and lower MMR ask for the opposite.

The game being a 4v1 means the "balance" of the game mostly depends on survivors, which is why the game feels killer sided against newbies and solo q while it feels survivor sided against swf and really good survivors. Buffing killers to balance them against swf make the solo q and lower mmr experience much worse, while survivor buffs that are very appreciated by solo q players usually make the game much harder for killers in high mmr.

Therefore I don't think we should balance things around killers v surivors before fixing the gap between solo q and swf. For example, the recently announced CoH nerf that is just nerfing solo q while barely affecting swf and therefore managing to make both survivors and killers unsatisfied.

In conclusion i think we should fix the major gap between solo q and swf before looking at the balance between survivors and killers, icons showing what teammates are doing seem to be in the works so I'm happy about that, I also wonder if knowing your teammates' builds before the game starts could be a good idea.

Anyway, just some thoughts of mine, don't take them too seriously :)
