A mechanic that's the opposite of obsession, to balance swf vs solo q.

just a thought, we saw something headed in this direction with blood pact and the key add on that let's you see the obsession at all times.

i feel like it's a direction that could be explored more. instead of having the four survivors as standalones, there would be two pairs of "partners" that can see eachother at all times and get bonuses when working with eachother, and severe penalties in interactions with non partners. and by interactions, i mean not only direct ones like healing, but also repairing a gen that was left unfinished by a non partner.

the general idea is that, even with the insane coordination of 4sfw, they could only collaborate effectively with one person. and meanwhile in solo queue, you could always have someone to count on. basically bringing both to a more equal level.

i feel like you could do all sorts of things with a mechanic like this, like only being able to be unhooked by your partner, and shared hooks between the both.

if anything, it could be an interesting new mode, which we have seen NONE in the entire lifetime of dbd.

  • This is a pretty bad idea.

Why should someone be punished when working with another Survivor? I get that it would bring SWF and Solo a bit closer together, but Solos would be equally punished. And regardless if a Team is full of 4 Solos or a 4 man SWF, in the end, they are a team.

And you should not be hindered by working together as a team due to something like that. Especially because 2/3 of the remaining Survivors are bad for you to work together and onyl 1/3 is good.
