Bodyblocking pyramid head's punishment of the damned?

So something weird happened to me today. I was camping a survivor during end game collapse, decided I might as well take someone with me. As I saw one survey going for the save I readied my punishment attack. Thing is, as I released the attack, another survivor stepped right in front of me. He got hit, like a basic attack, but the wave never happened and the survivors all merrily ran away. Is this intended? Or just an exploit?

    This absolutely shouldn't happen and sounds massively like a bug

    You're not supposed to be able to bodyblock it and it's supposed to be able to hit multiple survivors. If it hit one survivor and stopped that sounds like a bug.
