So I'm watching clips of people getting mad at the killer for staying near hook but their near by so the killed is protecting the hook and it's two survivors so is it a bad thing for the killer staying near.

The only bad thing is playing how others want you to play. Being mad doesn't make them right.
As long as you don't insult other players you are fine don't worry about it.
When it comes to camping as a strat, sometimes it can help you, other times it hurts you. Depends on the situation.
Camping can be used depends on how survs react.
Stupid survs will feed a camper rewarding it. It depends on the use of it really, i had survs blocking and sabotaging hooks, so i slugged and camped.
They werent going to let me get a hook and move on so i reacted to how they were playing.
Good survs will ignore the camped surv do gens and leave.
