Freddy - Tap activate ability to swap between snares and pallets

I saw an idea for Freddy that seemed interesting, make both snares and fake pallets be in his base kit and allow Freddy to swap between them similar to how Clown swaps between pink and yellow bottles. So Freddy would tap the activate ability button to swap between snares and pallets, and if he holds down the button he instead can teleport to a generator. This would be a fun little buff for him, allowing him to enjoy whatever combination of snares and pallets he wants.

Technical details to work out

  • Should Freddy have the same independent limits on snares and pallets in this system? I don’t remember the number off hand but say it was 10. Should he be able to have 10 snares and also 10 pallets, or should he be able to have 10 total objects combined, or something in between? I’m tempted to go with 10 and 10 since if he was limited to 10 total objects period there wouldn’t be a use for the pallets since they work best when set up before a chase while snares work well midchase, and so you’d end up just erasing the pallets you placed previously every chase. Probably best to let snares and pallets have their own separate counters.
  • Freddy’s pallet addons would need tweaks to replace the section about giving him pallets with some other benefit. A good way to do this might be to make those add-ons specifically buff his pallets somehow and not buff his snares, so something like making survivors who are hit by a pallet suffer from a condition like Mangled or Blindness and Exhaustion or even hypothetically Exposed if it were a red addon (not that there is a red pallet add-on currently.)

This is obviously a buff, how much of a buff depends on how good having the pallets actually is when combined with snares. Hypothetically if this made him too powerful you could just reduce the number of snares and pallets he can place appropriately.

Comments

  • I like this idea. Especially with all the new(er) maps who have "fixed" pallet spawns depending on the tile (Game, RPD, Erie, Lery's) wich make fake pallets really hard to use on these maps. Often enough you would need survivors to throw pallets first before being able to place anything. Not to mention that pallets are really useless when trying to defend exit gates. And on some maps with narrow corridors, snares are also better.

I think the number of tokens should be 5+5. 5 snares and 5 pallets.
