PC - Game too dark while playing Nightmare in RPD

I just played a game as Nightmare in RPD. The game was so dark I couldn't even see the walls in many places, and could only follow the survivors by the scratch marks in others. It is worth noting that the gamma setting on my computer is such at I can see fine in every other setting I've come across so far.
