No one would be complaining about the snowmen if…
…they somehow benefited killer as well
But unfortunately it seems that this event was purely made to cater to survivors while killer gets shafted,
and before people say “Just play for fun” “it’s Christmas, let people have fun” “don’t be a Scrooge” ect then just imagine if the shoe was on the other foot and the snowman were purely debuffs to survivors every game. There would be absolute Hell on and the forums would be flooded with survivor complaints
Remember the Halloween pumpkins? Remember how survivors and killers could both use them and the effect was random, either a duff or de-buff? That was okay. What’s not okay is making something that’s purely a buff and making it usable to one side only
If the devs went the same route as the pumpkins and made the snowmen something that killers could interact with as well then there would be no issue (or not as much of one anyway)
e.g ‘if a killer destroys a snowman then everyone in a 32m range is Exposed’
’destroying a snowman with a survivor inside causes all survivors within the killers terror radius to scream and reveal their location’
’a survivor who enters a snowman will be afflicted with the Oblivious status effect for 60 seconds after the snowman is destroyed’
Those are just some suggestions but the possibilities are endless.
This event could have been so much fun for both sides and there was so much potential but unfortunately it seems it was very poorly executed and clearly not tested before being rolled out
