Snowman desynchronized?

Are the snowmen desynchronized? As a survivor, I hopped into a snowman, moved it couple feet/meters away from its original position. The killer came and started to swing at its original position, maybe he swung like 10 times and I was watching him close by, hoping he would destroy the snowman. Then he left the area and a couple seconds later he disconnected.

I couldn't understand what was going on so I just thought that the snowmen are desynchronized, he does not see them where we survivors do?

    Sounds like the Killer was having connection issues more than anything else, the snowmen seem fine for what I've seen so far.
