Suggested Dead By Daylight Etiquette

Note: This is a list of things where I feel like the entire game experience would be significantly better if people didn't do these things. I can't force people not to do these things, but this is how you make the game miserable and give it a toxic reputation.

Survivor Etiquette

  1. Don't DC on purpose.
  2. Don't hold games hostage. This includes any method of intentionally trying to force the killer to disconnect.
  3. Don't heal other survivors just so that the killer can catch them. This doesn't mean healing survivors when the killer is near you. This means actually holding the survivor in place specifically so the killer can catch them.
  4. Don't body block other survivors on purpose.
  5. Don't blow up generators on purpose to get other survivors caught. Ditto for any other kind of noise-making event.
  6. Don't cooperate with the killer against your fellow survivors. This ranges from working with the killer to farm points to messaging the killer after you are dead to tell them where people are.
  7. Don't BM at the exit without doing the point trade.
  8. Don't sacrifice yourself on purpose during the struggle phase if other survivors are nowhere near your location.
  9. Don't send hate mail after games.

Killer Etiquette

  1. Don't DC on purpose.
  2. Don't hold games hostage. This generally means any situation in which you abuse body-blocking to make it literally impossible for the game to end. Patrolling the exit gates is not holding the game hostage.
  3. Do not collude with survivors to the detriment of other survivors.
  4. Do not BM people on the hook.
  5. Don't send hate mail after games.
