  • Well if you do the math, then there is no gaming company that fixes more bugs than create bugs. It’s not physically possible. You can’t fix a bug that you’ve never created, which means that if a company has for example fixed 45 bugs all time and have created 39 bugs all time, that leaves 6 bugs they fixed but didn’t ever create to begin with, which doesn’t exactly makes sense.

    after my stint in maintaining a game's codebase i can tell you that technically there's a way

    inherit a codebase that is riddled with long-standing issues, oversights and bugs like swiss cheese, deep recursive system rot that is so fundamentally broken that nobody even realized it was a problem for a literal decade

    that's how you fix more bugs than created, the quantum bugs nobody even realized were bugs they were so buggy are bonus points
