My theory on SBMM

From what I can gather it seems like it's just wool draped over everyone's eyes and they just throw you in a match that offers the best connection to the server and whoever is simply next in line , I could have seal team 6 one game as my survivors and even if I beat them the game will sometimes give me players that don't know how to do anything right afterwards, I'm thinking they just invented the term so that people don't complain about getting matched with survivors or killers way above them in terms of skill and it prevents people from complaining about rainbow ranked endgame screens, I personally haven't had any trouble with the new matchmaking but the way it's all over the place makes me question if that's even what's happening behind the scenes, any thoughts on the topic?
