If you are going to bring perm SBMM make two different playlists.
Why not have a social and ranked mm playlist? This way the casuals can play casual and the e-sporters and play competitively. I just think forcing this nonsense on a casual game is simply going to murder it,

There's no incentive to play ranked as opposed to just playing in casual.
In fact, there's negative incentive-- high level DbD sucks.
Even games with a casual queue usually have a matchmaking system to keep casual matches fair. The existence of SBMM isn't making the game more competitive just making it so new players don't just get matched with players with 1000s of hours which happens far too often in the current system.
Why does everyone think SBMM means sweat-fest for them? SBMM tries to put you with peeps of your skill. If you over-perform, by getting a 12 hooks/4K, you go up in rank/skill. At the same time, if you under-perform, your rating goes down.
This information tells me: just okay the way you want. Eventually SBMM will adjust your rating, so you go against people you can comfortably play against, in your way.
I have a feeling too many people do not understand this ...
If your rank resets like it does now, what's to stop this from happening with a new vs returning player?
MMR isn't resetting on a monthly basis. Only your grade which has no influence on matchmaking.
Ahh good, nothing was worse than as a new player versing veterans who had'nt played in ages(but still had full perk load outs) or people being carried my their high tier friends.
Given that there's no actual, published definition of skill - what you're saying here is conjecture, rather than a lucid description of MMR.
