Deranking for no reason

Why does ranking up and getting bloodpoints as survivor seem so poorly balanced? Ive had countless games where someone disconnects or is AFK or just throws or suicides and every other survivor gets completely screwed over for it. I dont understand why I derank when someone just disconnects or suicides on hook as soon as they get downed and it becomes an unwinnable 3v1 within 2 minutes of the start of the game. Deranking from getting tunneled or camped is ridiculous too, by what logic should I be deranking when I get facecamped by a noed Bubba and its just a free kill? Its hundreds of times easier to rank up as killer than as survivor unless youre a 4 stack against a brand new killer. Seems like a pretty easy thing to fix, probably my biggest problem with the game is how easy it is to get screwed by a fellow survivor and the game just goes 'oh well, deal with it'

  • Genuinely confused as to why this game only ever seems to reward toxic killers

  • And people wonder why there is a DC penalty. Someone quits and ruins the game for 4 other people. Why shouldn't they be punished?

As for the killer face camping someone to death. If the other survivors have brains in their heads and do gens. Odds are the killer won't rank up either. Camping only works if the survivors fall for it. Going off these forums you would think the vast majority do but I believe it is a vocal minority.

As far as ranking up is easier for killer. It's because your performance is not dependant on others. As a survivor you need to do a bit of everything. If the killer sucks or face camps the first person they down. Providing no opportunity to save, heal or even be chased. Then it's really difficult to rank up as a survivor. As a killer you are in more control because it's based your performance. The survivors can gen rush but so long as you are good at chases or win a mind game, you can get downs, interrupt gen progression, hit people, use your power ect.

Because in their infantilism, they shouldn't have to deal with ... whatever. A killer who like, hooks people.. or the wrong map.. or the wrong killer.. or it's Tuesday... or they have the wrong sauce from Mommy for their chicken nuggies for dinner.

@Sypherpathic Killers act the same way tho. When they don't like the map, get looped, gens pop quickly, they get their feelings hurt, or SWF.

Sure, and both are wrong. I try to play no matter what transpires. Sometimes I really don't want the map or killer or whatever, but one has to persevere. It's frustrating when anyone DC's before the match finishes. Don't do it.

True both sides do it but because the match ends when a killer rage quits it feels worse when survivors do it. If the killer quits it's over. You que up for another match. If a survivor quits your left with a feeling of dread because now you have to pick up the slack. "Oh great. This is going to suck". You know your in an unfair match now because someone got salty and left. The suffering doesn't end when a survivor quits. It only gets worse.
