What is the significance of breakable walls existence?

The first Glenvale's breakable wall was a very good system for changing existing routes to the killer's advantage by wasting time.

But as time goes by, it blocks what was originally allowed to pass on the remade maps, and most of them are only set up in landmarks.

Breaking it doesn't often benefit the killer.

Like the Glenvale map, if you break it, you have to change it to favor the killer, but if you break it, you also have to add a wall that is unfavorable to the killer.

Also, many improvements to the breakable wall will be needed, such as adding walls, such as a structure with windows or a Glenvale's shanty house, as well as landmarks.

  • Most of the times its for wasting killer time for removing infinites, and we all know the killer have a lot of time to spend in the matches.

  • There isn't really a purpose to them. They exist solely as a bandaid patch for terrible map design, which is quite funny since it communicates to us that BHVR is very aware how unbalanced most maps/loops are. So instead they slap a breakable wall as a pre-dropped god pallet, or throw down a door at an area that is super inconvenient for survs. the game is a great example, so many areas you just can't go easily through as a surv because of annoying breakable doors. Same for the killer, you can't access a lot of gens easily because of terrible breakable doors. In general they are a purposeless nuisance.
