The Good and the Bad of the Resident Evil Chapter
This is just a simple list of things I have noted that should probably be looked over so that this chapter can improve and end up in the quality people expected since its their, well what they wanted to be their biggest chapter but fell flat.
The Good:
Survivor Perks - Specifically Leon Scott Kennedy's perks are very accurate to the version of his character. Jill's perks are nice and at least 1 fit her but the other 2, Resurgence and Counterforce are an attempt to create something cool but not fitting for Jill Valentine.
Leon Scott Kennedy's Model and Resident Evil 4 Skin - I specifically put these 2 here and not any of these others is because it actually looks like the character. While there are some slight problems I completely understand them such as him not looking as chunky as he does in RE2R because of his armor. I understand if that isn't how he is in DBD. What they did do though is great. And as for Resident Evil 4 Leon, the only downside is it doesn't allow you to roundhouse or suplex the killers like in Resident Evil 4.
The Music - The music as always is incredible and fitting. Nemesis' music is amazing and the save room music is nice to have. The only problem is the music is kind of generic but that's not this games problem its just Nemesis. His music was always plain compared to other monster songs in Resident Evil.
The Map - Aside from the ugly mutation bubbles the map looks amazing. Of course just with worse graphics but that's just DBD, its fine. The only thing that should change is change some of the doorways that were added to like ripped walls and remove all the gross mutation stuff.
Killer Animations and Sounds - Nemesis' animations and sounds are top notch. His voice and sounds are perfect and his footsteps are crispy. Aside from his tentacle hit animation from the survivor POV or his breakable wall animation he is pretty nice.
The Bad:
Jill, Chris, Claire, and Nemesis' Models - The main problem with Jill is her face. She looks nothing like how she did in the game. How she is supposed to look is in the trailer when you start up the game. Chris is a very odd looking version of him from Resident Evil 5 with the Resident Evil 5 version of his Resident Evil outfit. Claire looks possessed. Nemesis has so many small details messed up that it's hard to not notice that his model is very off. His nose isn't right, his scar, his mouth, his body, his eye, his head shape, his everything.
The Map - The orange mutation bubbles around the map are unneeded additions to an already perfect map. It just makes it look ugly. There is no excuse when no other map has it.
The Inaccuracy of the Killer - Nemesis' power seems to have been made by someone who slapped together a bunch of random things from Resident Evil. The direction they went in is how you mess up an entire license chapter when the killer isn't even truly the killer. The direction they went in was bringing in the feeling of Resident Evil as a franchise instead for the character which is how a licensed chapter gets brutally murdered when half the chapter isn't even accurate. Nemesis is such a simple character to get right and a hard one to mess up. The most iconic parts about Nemesis is his insane speed and strength. None of which are present. The only thing that Nemesis has from RE3R is the infection which only happens 1 time in like an 8 or 10 hour game, and the tentacle which is one of the least iconic parts of him, at least compared to the other 2 things I listed. Nemesis has nothing to do with zombies and its a shame because they aren't even as fun as something YOU could control like idk... Running? He feels more like a zombie general without actually controlling the zombies. Anyone who has actually played RE3R and is a fan of RE would understand.
