Dead by daylight must be rebuilt from the ground.

Dead by daylight is an old game with many issues:

Matchmaking

Ranked system

Hit system

Pallet stuns

Cosmetic issues

And the only way to perfect these things is to build a better engine/game.

Dead by daylight will not survive another year if it isn't fixed

Comments

  • It will survive but I agree with you that it needs to be rebuilt.

  • The core gameplay loop needs to be redesigned as well.

Also, the engine itself isn't really the issue, it's how the devs are using it. An engine upgrade wouldn't hurt, but how they use it matters. Plenty of other games use Unreal Engine 4 without these kinds of issues.

  • Definitely needs rebuilding from the ground up, if only to better prevent the game collapsing on itself whenever new content is added.

Matchmaking will never be perfect. That's something we're just going to have to deal with. It could be better, and they're working on it.

The hit system is fine, when everyone has a good connection. They just need to redo hit validation so high ping players don't ruin it for the rest of us. Same goes for pallets.

    Cosmetics are what they are.

As for the game not surviving, it's just peaked on Steam. As vocal as we are, the minority are the ones who complain. Most casual players will keep the game afloat.
