Better Legion

The Legion

Other

  • The Legion now has their own chase music, which is a distorted death metal piece that ensures that Survivors are bombarded by the disorienting sounds as they are alarmed by The Legion's presence.
  • Each Legion member now has their own unique voice.
  • The Legion's non-Frenzy movement animations are changed.
    • Frank holds his knife behind himself and his other arm forward as he dashes towards you.
    • Julie holds her knife down by her side and moves almost akin to Myers and Ghost Face.
    • Susie holds her knife up above herself and points it in the hammer grip while running, almost akin to her Feral Frenzy run.
    • Joey holds his knife in his left hand behind himself and swings his right arm back and forth similar to the Trickster, but different.
  • Joey is now a designated left-handed user, and as such, the position of every HUD icon is flipped to the opposite ends of one another.

Power: Feral Frenzy

  • Rework: Feral Frenzy now has a few new abilities and a completely new functionality, but the Deep Wound status effect is now completely removed.

Special Ability: Feral Slide

  • Feral Slide is a special Legion ability that occurs when pressing the Activate Ability button (M2), which allows The Legion to perform a swift slide towards their victim.
  • Feral Slide has a start-up of 0.2 seconds.
  • Feral Slide has a duration of 0.6 seconds.
  • Feral Slide has a winddown of 0.2 seconds.
  • Feral Slide has a speed of 8 meters per second, as such, it travels upwards of 8 meters.
  • Feral Slide can travel less distance if cancelled early with a normal hit.
  • Feral Slide has the ability to go underneath dropped Pallets.
  • Feral Slide has the ability to be chained into an attack that can injure and down a Survivor.
  • Feral Slide has the ability to chain into Feral Stealth (see below).

Special Ability: Feral Leap

  • Feral Leap is another special Legion ability that occurs when pressing the Action button (Space) when you are not nearby any obstacle that triggers a damage, open or pick-up animation. This ability allows the Legion to suddenly leap forward into the air.
  • Feral Leap has a start-up of 0.2 seconds.
  • Feral Leap has a duration of 0.8 seconds before landing.
  • Feral Leap has a winddown of 1.2 seconds.
  • Feral Leap has a speed of 12 meters per second, as such, it travels upwards of 12 meters.
  • Feral Leap has the ability to chain into Feral Vault on pallets and windows.
  • Feral Leap has the ability to be chained into a devastating attack that can injure a Survivor and inflict them with the Hindered status effect for 5 seconds.

Feral Leap Ability: Wall Jump

  • Whenever Feral Leap is activated within close proximity and mostly parallel to a wall, The Legion will immediately perform a wall jump off of the wall itself if the player uses the Action button once again.
  • Performing a wall jump will allow The Legion to jump to a higher elevation for a better vantage point or to quickly pursue unsuspecting Survivors.
  • The Legion can chain wall jumps up to 5 times, allowing him to scale things that no other Killer has the ability to due to this special perk. This allows him to get the drop on Survivors.

Special Ability: Feral Stealth

  • Feral Stealth is a final special Legion ability that gives The Legion the ability to crouch, lowering his movement speed but making him much stealthier in return. This ability is active whenever you press the Crouch button (Ctrl) and does not require Feral Frenzy to activate.
  • Feral Stealth has a start-up and wind-down of 0.1 seconds.
  • Feral Stealth has a maximum movement speed of 2.86m/s
  • Feral Stealth reduces The Legion's Terror Radius to 8 meters after 3 seconds.
  • Feral Stealth removes the Red Stain from The Legion's front after 3 seconds.

Feral FRenzy Stats

  • Feral Frenzy starts at 0 charges by default.
  • Feral Frenzy has 20 charges at maximum.
  • Feral Frenzy consumes 1c/s, for a maximum of 20 seconds duration of Feral Frenzy.
    • This is the total maximum duration and is not affected by any of his attacks or actions.
  • Feral Frenzy recharge rate is 0.5c/s by default, for a maximum of 40 seconds of cooldown.
  • Performing a Basic Attack with The Legion will increase the charge by 5 charges.
  • The Legion can cancel out of Feral Frenzy early, which resets his charges to 5 charges.
  • The Legion can be sent out of Feral Frenzy early by being stunned, which doesn't reset his charges.
  • Feral Frenzy increases The Legion's field of view by 15 degrees.
  • Feral Frenzy increases The Legion's terror radius by 8 meters.
  • Hitting a Survivor with Feral Frenzy will cause Killer Instinct to trigger on all Survivors within The Legion's Terror Radius for 6 seconds by default, allowing him to continue targeting his prey or stalk another.
  • Hitting a Survivor with Feral Frenzy will incur a 1.5 second cooldown and will not cancel the Power.
  • Missing a Survivor with Feral Frenzy will incur a 2.5 second cooldown on the whiffed attack, but will not cancel the Power.
  • Cancelling the Power early will cause 3 seconds of Fatigue to The Legion.
  • Running out of the Power will cause 5 seconds of Fatigue to The Legion.

Ferocity Meter

  • The Ferocity Meter is a special meter that all Survivors have.
  • When The Legion performs an attack from Feral Frenzy, Feral Slide or Feral Leap, each Survivor is dealt only 1 Ferocity damage.
    • It requires 3 total Ferocity strikes to put a Survivor into the Injured state.
    • It requires 6 total Ferocity strikes to put a Survivor into the Dying state.
  • The Ferocity Meter starts decaying at a rate of 1 charge per second, with a total of 10 seconds being required for each individual bar to regress.
  • When in a chase with The Legion while the bar regresses, it now regresses at 0.25 charges per second.
  • The Ferocity Meter starts decaying after 15 seconds of not being in a chase with The Legion.

You ever have that one idea that sounds so ludicrous that it could have the potential to work out if you describe it? Well this is the idea I had. A better Legion, one where the player is able to truly utilize The Legion's parkour and superhuman abilities to the maximum.

Gone are the days of 4 second fatigues, requiring you to leave Feral Frenzy to down a Survivor, and the single worst status effect introduced to the game.

Now would be the days of a Legion who can truly stop at nothing to assail their victims wherever they go. They will always be there, watching from above, stalking from below, or running straight towards you, ready to cut you up.

This Legion is practically better because it makes them into a real character, and each one has their own little backstories to them as to how The Legion have picked up these useful techniques.

  • Feral Frenzy is a technique originally developed by Frank.
  • Feral Leap is a technique that was created by the sinister Julie.
  • Feral Slide is a maneuver first utilized by Susie.
  • Feral Stealth is a stealth maneuver that was Joey's signature move.

As for a bit more flavor, I'll be adding more in the post below.

Comments

  • Whenever members of The Legion are hit by Pallets they will utter the following phrases:

    • "Damn you...!" (Frank)
    • "I'll gut your entrails for that!" (Frank)
    • "Oh, keep running..." (Frank)
    • "You're next...!" (Frank if he is stunned by someone outside of chase)
    • "Dirty-" (Frank if he is stunned by someone outside of chase)
    • "Think that's going to stop me?" (Julie after being stunned)
    • "Why you...!" (Julie)
    • "I'll kill you!" (Julie)
    • "Keep running." (Julie)
    • "Tick...tock...!" (Julie if she is stunned by someone outside of chase)
    • "Playing cheap, are we...?" (Julie if she is stunned by someone outside of chase)
    • "Gack!" (Susie)
    • "Why won't you just die?!" (Susie)
    • "You're postponing death." (Susie)
    • "I'll cut you to ribbons for that!!" (Susie if she is stunned by someone outside of chase)
    • "Now...I'm pissed..." (Susie if she is stunned by someone outside of chase)
    • "Playing hard to get...I like..." (Joey after being stunned)
    • "Keep going..." (laughs) (Joey)
    • "Don't worry, I'll catch up." (Joey)
    • "Better start running..." (Joey if he is stunned by someone outside of chase)
    • "Your skull's going to make a nice mantle." (Joey after being stunned)
    • "That's not going to stop me." (Joey after being stunned)
    • "You're running out..." (all if there's less than 6 active pallets on the map left)

Whenever members of The Legion are stunned by any source of light, they will utter the following phrases:

    • "My eyes!" (Frank)
    • "God damn it! I can't see!" (Frank if he is hit by a Flash Grenade or Blast Mine)
    • (screams of agony) (Julie)
    • (screams of even more agony) (Julie if she is hit by a Flash Grenade or Blast Mine)
    • "Where are you?! I know you're here...!" (Susie)
    • "That's it! No more games!!" (Susie if she is hit by a Flash Grenade or Blast Mine)
    • "That's cute." (Joey)
    • "Seriously?" (Joey if he is hit by a Flash Grenade or Blast Mine)

Whenever members of The Legion are stunned by Decisive Strike:

    • "Oh, now you've done it." (Frank)
    • "I'll flay your skin slowly when I find you." (Julie)
    • "Why me...?!" (Susie)
    • "Damn it!" (scoffs) "Smart one..." (Joey)

And this concludes what would make Legion better; a new rework full of unique and interesting abilities that would put DbD to its knees, but would be, at least in my opinion, the single most fun and interesting character to play as in Dead by Daylight.
