A Change to Huntress

Add-Ons

Soldier's Puttee

  • Add-on reworked.
    • The Huntress moves at 4.6m/s when she is out of Hatchets.
    • Moderately increases Lunge range when Huntress is out of Hatchets.
    • Slightly increases acceleration after falling from large heights when Huntress is out of Hatchets.

Iridescent Head

  • Add-on reworked.
    • Survivors hit by Hunting Hatchets are put into the Dying State.
    • Caps Hatchet Carrying capacity at 1 Hatchet.
    • Removes the ability to reload Hatchets via Lockers.
    • Hatchets now have an automatic cooldown of 30 seconds.

What this does:

Huntress now has something of value when utilizing Soldier's Puttee as it should be able to increase anything based around the utilization of her legs when hatchets aren't around; as the description says, it provides protection and support for the ankles and lower legs, so the additional two perks to this would apply just that. This would also make her somewhat less reliant on hatchet plays and can give players a new way to use her.

Iridescent Head is often a topic of hot debate as to whether or not it's fun, but honestly, all of that could've been avoided with one simple change to them: add 30 seconds cooldown, but make them automatically reload. A simple change in theory, but in practice, would make for a significantly more balanced add-on that can't be abused even in its current state.

Now a few things I'll point out for the sake of it:

  • Using Wooden Fox with Iridescent Head still applies the Undetectable Status Effect when the Huntress automatically reloads the hatchet that was on cooldown.
  • Using Deerskin Gloves with Iridescent Head will reduce the cooldown by 5 seconds.
  • Using Soldier's Puttee and Iridescent Head would be a monstrous combination.

I originally wanted to suggest the idea that Iridescent Head had a boomerang effect (a la The Legend of Zelda), but I don't know how that would be received when you suddenly get struck by a homing Boomerang if you're close to Huntress.
