hillbilly overheat idea
so as we all know hillbilly is not in a good place right now, not because he is overly weak but because he feels bad to play, his addons are almost as much of a joke as nurses are and his power without addons is out classed by many other powers; even bubba's power without addons is more threatening to a survivor that billy's with his best addons.
the devs seem adamant to keep the overheat mechanic in the game so I thought of a way to make his base power a lot more dangerous when he has less heat and rewarding the player for managing his heat properly.
here are the current numbers for the overheat mechanic
Overheat:
- The Overheat limit is set at 100 Charges by default.
- Heat only accumulates whenever the Power button is pressed.
- Starting the chainsaw adds 5 Charges by default.
- Revving adds 8 c/s by default.
- Sprinting adds 2 c/s.
- Heat dissipates at a rate of -3.5 c/s by default.
- After hitting the Overheat limit, heat dissipates at a rate of -6.6 c/s by default
the chainsaw takes 2.5 seconds to fully charge to begin the chainsaw sprint.
my proposed idea is to split the heat mechanic into 4 stages; cold, warm, hot and overheated based on how much heat the chainsaw has, providing different effects based on what stage the chainsaw is in.
at 0-29 charges of heat the chainsaw is cold whilst cold the chainsaw has.
- 12% faster charging speed
- slightly decreased chainsaw noise range
at 30-59 charges of heat the chainsaw is warm whilst warm the chainsaw has no innate benefits or disadvantages
at 60-99 charges of heat the chainsaw is hot whilst hot the chainsaw has
- directional chainsaw revving sounds
at 100% the chainsaw becomes overheated and stalls becoming unusable until it fully cools down.
Comments
Billy doesn't need overheat mechanic to be fair and fun at all except to avoid him to be a God Camper (like Bubba?)
It would be nice that overheat mechanic only activates in proximity of hanged survivors
