Like @PantslessMyers you can literally just press one button and its gone until you open it again
I like having the chat option. I've shared far more "gg"s with people than been insulted by it.
If someone insults you, ignore it or just type "lol" or something and move on. If someone uses racial or sexual slurs or makes threats / tells you to #########, report them immediately (take a screenshot too if you can help it).
Otherwise just don't pay any attention to it or turn it off. The people who trash talk are random internet dorks who you'll never actually meet, probably people younger than you who are just using you as an excuse to feel better about themselves. Don't let their opinions matter.
