Can we have an honest and constructive discussion about Breakable Walls?

With the upcoming Thompson House improvements, I think most players in the community are having the same thoughts. "Oh great, here come more breakable walls that nobody asked for." But let's try and steer away from that kneejerk reaction and reach out to the devs in a mature and reasonable way. Constructive critique and a request for dialogue are better responses than simply seeing a breakable wall and REEE-ing immediately.

So, here is the chance for the devs to interact with us and explain their reasoning if they choose to. As the preamble asserts, most players from my observation are in agreement that the breakable walls are a pain point that contribute more harm than good to the health and balance of the game. We've had discussions of how to fix them, that's not what this post is meant to be. That feedback has probably been seen by the devs (survivors have to build them/etc/etc).

Instead I am asking the devs for a response this time, and asking other players to be respectful so that they will feel it is worthwhile TO respond. Devs: Why do you feel as though breakable walls are a healthy addition to the game that must be included in every reworked map when the community almost always bemoans their inclusion? Why are breakable walls just a slap-dash fix to bad map generation that results in functional infinites? Why are you okay putting in breakable walls that do nothing but waste precious seconds of the killer's early game while doing nothing to address the already prevalent issue of generator speeds with competent survivor teams?

This post is not meant to decry these decisions as stupidity or ignorance, or insult or belittle the devs. There has to be a reason for these accursed things popping up in every map. So please, let us hear the reasons. All we want is communication.
