Several Brillint things about this game, but one sad thing... A love letter.
This game has (inhales): A brilliant idea, good execution, working devs, bug detection and fixing, enhanced comunity, several well known licenses, a mostly fair gameplay for both sides and last but not least support from all sides.
But it isn`t scary. I think everyony should have worked that out yet, but i think the reason is something that will never be changed: the third person perspective. with that the game just isnt imersive enough to reallycatch you, to pull you into a really scary atmosphere. i mean are you really scared in games like the old resident evil or silent hill? no, you are scared in games like outlast or alien isolation or, sorry for that devs, white noise. at least i am. without realy having the feeling of getting threatend but knowing some one is working against you, people tend to get... (shaking in disgust) ehhh... toxic. But we cant blame dbd for that. wich game doesnt has a toxic community? people are just awfull, expecily when they get anonimity (did i spell that right?). I love dbd and i probably will never stop playing it because i love that it is improved and changed and added so much. of course theire are some faults but nobodys perfect. and the game is known to... become just more work than fun. but this is just Dead by Daylight and we love it, even though that it isnt scary.

Making the game scary is nothing more than a fantasy, I'm sorry to say.
There are some mechanics that make the game scarier, like Terror Radius negating effects, but ultimately it is impossible to preserve a scary atmosphere in a multiplayer environment forever. Fear in general is fleeting when you re-experience the same thing over and over, and that just gets mulitiplied when it's being controlled by somebody else and you're playing in a genre designed to produce lots of replaying of the same gameplay loop.
Also "are you really scared in games like silent hill"... Yes? FPP and TPP games are both 1000% capable of being scary and saying that Outlast/Alien Isolation are scary because of their camera perspective does both games a great disservice. (especially when Alien Isolation goes from a scary game to losing its fear factor, without changing the camera angle)
