My thoughts on the whole "LGBTQ Representation" discourse that was present in the hype of the PTB.

Starting off, I'd like to point out that the person writing this both:

  1. Loves this game to bits even when some ugly part of the game rears its head and causes frustration.
  2. Is queer themselves.

I see people quite literally going rabid at the thought of LGBTQ representation in the game, but failing to see one thing:

This game has LGBTQ representation - if you see it as such. Tell me you've never seen all the ships between same-sex characters. Tell me you've never come across the occasional Kingfield or Thomasson. People still frequently ship these characters together, even if their sexuality has never been confirmed, and that's the thing. The developers have avoided mentioning any of the character's relationships or gender preferences because they want the fans to come up with them, to make up their own headcanon.

So please explain to me why some people just crave for confirmation of a new character or existing character's sexuality when you can decide what a character's sexuality is. The developers left it for interpretation and imagination. Why not just leave it as such instead of begging for representation that you can choose to believe already exists.
