DS Re-Work
DECISIVE STRIKE:
To attempt to fix the problem with DS, The team needs to focus on how a survivor can exploit the perk. "What makes the perk offensive, and how can we prevent it from becoming unused?"
BALANCE:
If a killer doesn't tunnel down a survivor, a lot of the times they don't come across decisive, however, in clutch gameplay, sometimes its essential for the killers to go after the same survivors in order to win the game, and frankly, that's just how things need to be sometimes. Dead by Daylight is a competitive game. Survivors and killers both equally need to pull in their own to win. The issue is how to balance it for both to have an equal chance, and making a perk render every other action in the game useless in fear of deactivating it is not balance.
GAMEPLAY:
Gameplay wise, Decisive has turned the game boring. Perks are meant to enhance both the killer and survivors abilities and to change gameplay mechanics. Having a perk that disables gameplay in an attempt to make it less of an offense is a band-aid fix over the real issue, and doesn't even cover the basis of the real exploits the perk provides.
DS EXPLOITS:
Decisive Strike is used offensively by survivors in terms of;
1. Grabs: Slow vaulting and jumping into a locker as a way to force the ds out onto the killer was the number one issue on how ds was used offensively, it was an annoying trick that made the killer waste precious time.
2. Use after the exit gates are powered: Survivors will get hooked in endgame, and even though the killer could hook the survivor faraway from the door, if saved, they have an instant out regardless of being picked up or not.
3. The combination of Meta Perks: pairing up DS with perks like Soul Guard and Unbreakable gives the survivor a minute of invincibility. Leaving them on the floor to wait out Decisive would result in them standing up, and picking them up will result in them stunning the killer. There was no easy counter to this combination, and was very broken by default.
NONE OF THE MENTIONED ABOVE HAS BEEN FIXED BY THE CURRENT PROPOSED CHANGE. DS IS STILL AN ISSUE THAT STANDS.
DS RE-WORK:
-DS is disabled if the survivor is grabbed.
-DS is disabled after all generators are done.
-DS does not work with perks that allow survivors to stand up. Perhaps a new status that can cancel the perks out, like how exhaustion cancels out sprint burst with dead hard.
TL;DR:
Current DS nerf is bad because the exploits from before can still occur. Suggests that ds doesn't work with grabs, after gens are completed, and with standing up meta perks like SG and Unbreakable.
