Should sacrificial ward be refunded if you don't block a map offering?

For one of like 27 greens at 5k points or whatever id assume sacrificial ward would have the insurance of hey if no map offerings used you get a refund. But apparently this isnt the case its not like itd be a unfair thing because theres how many map offerings and one thing that counters them? Maybe im missing something for a offering thats 5k points and runs on risk of not doing anything at all.

  • Yes, it should. They are too rare to just throw them in as a guess. A friend of mine used all his Sacrificial Wards on a Survivor (was like 6 or 7), no Map Offering was used. After he ran out, a Map Offering was used - yay.

Apart from that, if multiple Map Offerings are used, the ones which are overwritten should not be burned. Aka if the Killer burns Lerys and the Survivor burns Autohaven and it turns out to be Autohaven, the Killer should keep his Lerys Offering. Same the other way around. This would especially useful for certain builds because the most restricting thing on those is the Map Offering.

But for Sacrificial Ward - big yes, no reason to use this Offering up if no Map Offering is burned.

  • While it does feel bad, it’s kinda of like those times where you bring a basement/hatch offering only to get Midwich or Hawkins. In most case, that offering would have had value but in that situation you were just unlucky and it did not play in your favor. Sacrificial wards are just big f-us for map offerings, which are really only common in SWFs who are planning to bully or avoiding a specific type of map. As such, I feel if you misread a survivor group and decided to play a sacrificial ward as insurance against a map offering, you should lose it even if they didn’t bring one. I think the only time you should get it back is if all survivors brought the same map offering, because at that point the ward would have never mattered whether or not you used it.
