Hillbilly & Sliding Survivors

Don't take this thread seriously, mkay? You'll just waste your time otherwise. (Though reading this already is a form of wastine time. )

So, Survivor pulled down a pallet and they stay on that side.
You chainsaw-sprint towards them.
In the last second, they slide to the other side of the pallet, but you hit the pallet while they slide over it.

What happens? The pallet breaks and they're fine.
If you want to cut a pallet into at least 2 pieces, you'd have to cut from edge to edge.
So why is the pallet destroyed, but the Survivor is still fine?
