Perk changes | Knock Out

Why was Knock Out changed in the first place? My theory is Devs wanted to reduce the snowball potential of m2 Killers, like Huntress or Billy, so they made it Basic Attack only and slapped some effects so it doesn't look like a complete nerf, the issue is that one of these effects only hinders solo q players and the second one does literally nothing.

Knock Out

The trauma caused by your brutal attacks makes crying for help painfully dofficult.

Survivors put into the dying state by your basic attacks are not revealed to other Survivors when they are standing outside of a 32/24/16 meter range.

These dying Survivors suffer from the Oblivious Status Effect and their recovery speed is Considerably reduced, these effects are removed once the Survivor is healed from the dying state. (-20%, only your recovery speed is slower, other Survivors still heal you at the default healing speed)

What changed?

  • Knock out now applies to dying Survivors Oblivious, instead of Blindness.

Why? Because Oblivious limits the information SWF can get from their Dying teammate, is the Killer still near you? Is he camping your dying lifeless body? Now they can't tell.

Blindness only really affects solo players, so I removed this aspect of the perk.

  • Knock Out no longer applies the movement speed debuff, instead it decreases the recovery speed.

Why? Because the slowdown didn't do anything, why would somebody crawl away instead of recovering? Maybe to go under the pallet, but if you're already really far you probably wouldn't make it.

  • These debuffs now last for the entire dying state or until the Survivors is healed from it, instead of only lasting 15 seconds.

The 15 second timer feels really out of place, it's probably there only for the nice effect when the Killer downs you with Knock Out, this nice screen effect should stay, make it last 15 seconds like now, but the other effects should be there until the Survivor leaves the dying state.

  • Make it work on not just basic attacks and the perk would be pretty good. Reduced recovery speed makes much more sense than slower crawling speed.
